Method 1 of Confirm there is no CD in the player. If the CD drive is tray-loaded, open the tray and disconnect the power cable without switching it off from the power button. This will leave the tray open, allowing you access to the slot. Blow away dust with a handheld air bulb. Cleaning your eyeglasses daily is the best way to keep them looking great and prevent lens scratches and other eyewear damage. Follow these tips to clean your eyeglass lenses and frames without risk of scratching the lenses or causing other damage. These cleaning tips will help you keep your sunglassessafety glasses and sports eyewear in great shape, too. Before cleaning your eyeglasses, make sure your hands are free from dirt, grime, lotion and anything else that could be transferred to your lenses.

Use lotion-free soap or dishwashing liquid and a clean, lint-free towel to clean your hands. This will remove dust and other debris, which can help avoid scratching your lenses when you are cleaning them. Avoid hot water, which can damage some eyeglass lens coatings. Most dishwashing liquids are very concentrated, so use only a tiny amount. Or apply a drop or two to your fingertip instead. Use only brands that do not include lotions.

Make sure you clean every part, including the nose pads and the ends of the temples that rest behind your ears. Also, clean the area where the edge of the lenses meet the frame — dust, debris and skin oils frequently accumulate here.

Use a dish towel that has not been laundered with a fabric softener or dryer sheet these substances can smear the lenses. A cotton towel that you use to clean fine glassware is a good choice. Make sure the towel is perfectly clean. Dirt or debris trapped in the fibers of a towel can scratch your lenses; and cooking oil, skin oil or lotion in the towel will smear them.

If any streaks or smudges remain, remove them with a clean microfiber cloth — these lint-free cloths are available at most optical shops or photography stores. For touch-up cleaning of your glasses when you don't have the above supplies available, try individually packaged, pre-moistened disposable lens cleaning wipes.

These are formulated specifically for use on eyeglass lenses.

Remember Me? Download free trial! Results 1 to 18 of Pioneer Laser cleaning. Hi all, My Pioneer DVRH was recently used as a home for quite a large number of ANTS - needless to say there were eggs, or whatever those white little things were, all over the inside of the recorder.

Now I managed to get them all out by taking the cover off and putting the machine in a bright sunlit area, but still had to persuade some to leave their new home with a paint brush.

Problem is that now that the recorder is nice and clean and ANT-free, the DVD drive does not read any discs at all, I know that sound all too well from working with PC drives. Now I know there are adjustment parts that can be used to set the focus that could have gone out when I cleaned it with the brush and another adjustment alignment is it? But ok the DVD unit I also opened later to check if there were ants in there as well and there was.

Now I'm not sure where things went wrong, for instance 1. Maybe the ants left dirt on the Lens? And secondly how to clean the lens properly. Attached Thumbnails. You can clean the lens, but you won't be "adjusting" or aligning" it by yourself. Do you know of any articles describing the cleaning process of the Pioneer lens unit? Google is your friend. If you've already cleaned it then after 8 years the drive is probably dead.

The lens should cover the LEDs enough that nothing could get under it. You might also examine the tracking assembly to see if there is any damage to it.

But be prepared to toss the unit when those adjustments fail. Well the lens seems to be as clean as can be and the tracking assembly seems fine as well, so I'm going to try and fiddle with the adjustments and see if I can magically get the right setting I have previously done this adjustment on a NAD CD player and it paid off, but I somehow doubt if this is going to be as easy as that attempt.

Originally Posted by XploRa1. If you did somehow manage to move them with the paintbrush, you probably wouldn't be able to reset them correctly by eye: Pioneer would need to do it for you at a service facility.

When you say you cleaned out the burner, did you mean removed it entirely from the chassis disconnected it and opened its case? If so, that might be part of your problem.

If you are seeing anything but the usual time display, such as "E01" or "CPRM Err," the recorder wants the service tools to reinitialize the drive s. If all displays are normal, your particular doesn't need the service tool reset, but the ant residue probably gummed up the laser mechanism.Cleaning the lens on a Laserdisc player.

I don't even use alcohol I don't like using it on coated plastics and had good results on all types of laser. Posted: Sun Jan 01, am. There is never a reason to clean the lens on an LD player unless you are in a house where people smoke or it was left out sitting without playing where dust could settle on it.

When an LD spins it creates a lot of air movement and that keeps it clean. If you need to clean use the purest alcohol you can fine and a chamois swab. Thanks I won't clean it then, I used to smoke but that was before I bought a laserdisc player and the original owner didn't smoke either I was asking because the cleaner did sort out my DVD recorder which was reading but not writing discs That was around when I used to smoke tho.

Posted: Mon Jan 02, am. Of course smoke does settle as a film, not dust and that is why players in a smokers house may need cleaning.

I had to clean the lens on the player which had a half-vaporized roach inside. Cleaned a lot of other parts in there, too. Posted: Mon Jan 02, pm. Doesn't really work anymore though, as it gets stuck on the cleaning chapters for some reason. Sent a message to Josh on his "Laserdisc Forever" website, and he said the same thing that Kurtis says. Now it's just another one of my LD novelties that I keep around for no real reason. Posted: Tue Jan 03, am.During these challenging times, we guarantee we will work tirelessly to support you.

Dust, lint, grime, and even fingerprints that find their way onto game discs can cause a system error.

When cleaning discs, always use the most gentle methods first, as the same treatments that remove dirt and scratches can cause more damage if used too aggressively. If the game still won't run, patiently try more heavy-duty treatments in turn. Cleaning the disc drive itself is also a good idea, especially if you get error messages for more than one game.

Then, hold your disc by the rim and wipe it from the center outward with the cloth. You should wipe it a second time with a dry cloth to remove any excess moisture before you play your disc again. Alternatively, put rubbing alcohol on the cloth to clean fingerprints or grease from your disc.

Want to give your disc a general cleaning? Just dampen the cloth with tap water and wipe your disc in the same way. To learn how to get a clean disc drive to put your now-clean disc into, read on! Cleaning your glasses? Here's how to do it the right way

It seems like a really nice machine I can tell because it's heavybut there seem to be some issues with the image quality. Again, I've never actually watched a laserdisc before, but the CLD, running to a 19" television, should be able to produce an image roughly comparable to a low-end DVD player, shouldn't it?

Mine isn't. I've tried a half-dozen laserdiscs, and there is always this noisy, shimmering look to the picture. Worse, I sometimes see a slightly "scrambled" picture that looks like what you might get if your VCR needed a tracking adjustment. First of all, the player is hooked up to the television through the VCR. This shouldn't be an issue, should it?

It's my understanding that laserdisc players don't use macrovision or anything of that sort. When I got it, the player was in good shape but obviously hadn't been used in a while and was quite dusty, including the disc tray. I gave the maching a good wipe down on the outside but I'm wondering if perhaps there's a bit of dust and whatnot inside the maching causing my playback problems. Does this sound like it might be the case? If so, what can I do? I'm hoping there's a solution that doens't involve a lot of money or opening up the player.

Though I'm willing to do the latter if it's needed and I can be assured that it's relatively easy to put back together.

On the other hand, is there perhaps some other issue that might be the problem here? Excited about my new toy, I just got a batch of brand-new laserdiscs from eBay and I'd love to have a laserdisc movie marathon this weekend. Message 2 of 12 Feb 12, Patrick Sun Studio Mogul. The shimmer probably looks like moire patterns. TVs with good comb filtering on the composite video input will help in reducing that effect.

Message 3 of 12 Feb 12, Michael Reuben Director. Message 4 of 12 Feb 12, Oh, if you get lots of speckles in the video display, more than likely that LD has laser rot.

Message 5 of 12 Feb 12, The shimmering thing is bad enough to be a little distracting, but not so bad that I was certain it was a real problem. I guess it's just the nature of laserdisc video.
